1. Privacy Policy Overview

LoversConnect is a dating and social discovery app. The app helps adults create profiles, upload photos, discover nearby profiles, match, chat, manage privacy settings, block or report users, and receive notifications.

The app uses a custom backend service for accounts, profiles, photos, discovery, matching, chat, moderation, and account deletion. Firebase Cloud Messaging is used for push notifications only. Firebase is not used as the primary backend database for app accounts, profiles, matching, or chat.

2. Information We Collect

Account and authentication data

• Phone number and OTP verification information.
• Login/session tokens used to keep your account signed in.
• Account identifiers created by our backend.

Profile and dating data

• Name, age or birth date, gender, bio, interests, preferences, and profile completion details.
• Profile photos and selfie photos you upload or capture in the app.
• Discovery preferences such as distance range, age range, interested-in choices, visibility, online status, and match/message settings.
• Online status, last seen status, verification status, and profile role where applicable.

Location data

If you allow location access, we collect approximate or precise latitude and longitude so the app can show nearby profiles, calculate distance, and support location-based discovery. You can control location permission in your device settings.

Photos, camera, and media

If you use camera or photo upload features, the app accesses your camera or selected images to create and update your profile. Photos you choose to upload are sent to our backend for storage and display in the app. Face or selfie checks may be used to help maintain profile authenticity, but we do not use them to create or sell biometric identity profiles.

Messages, matches, and moderation data

• Likes, swipes, matches, unmatches, and conversation readiness status.
• Chat messages, read status, timestamps, and sender/receiver identifiers.
• Blocked users, reports, report reasons, report details, moderation actions, and admin review status.

Device, notification, and technical data

• Firebase Cloud Messaging device tokens used to deliver push notifications.
• Device platform, app events needed for security and troubleshooting, and backend request logs.
• Crash, diagnostic, and abuse-prevention information where available.

3. How We Use Information

• To create, verify, secure, and maintain your account.
• To show your profile to other users based on your privacy and discovery settings.
• To recommend profiles, calculate distances, support matching, and enable chat.
• To upload, store, display, replace, and delete profile photos.
• To send OTP messages, app alerts, match alerts, chat alerts, and push notifications.
• To enforce safety rules, review reports, prevent abuse, and protect users.
• To provide support, troubleshoot technical issues, and improve app reliability.
• To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights, users, and services.

4. App Permissions

• Camera: Used to take selfies or profile photos when you choose to use that feature.
• Location: Used for nearby discovery and distance display when you allow it.
• Notifications: Used for match, chat, and account notifications if you allow them.
• Biometric/fingerprint: Used only for local app lock/unlock. LoversConnect receives only success or failure from your device and does not receive your fingerprint or face data.
• Internet: Required to connect to the custom backend and notification services.

5. Sharing and Third-Party Services

Some profile information you choose to provide, such as name, age, gender, bio, photos, online status, distance, and verification status, may be visible to other users depending on your privacy settings and how the app works. Messages are visible to you and the user you are chatting with, and may be reviewed by authorized moderators when required for safety, support, or abuse investigations.

We may share information with service providers that help operate the app, including:

• Our custom backend infrastructure and hosting providers.
• Database, queue, cache, and storage systems used by the backend, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and RabbitMQ.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging and device platform notification services for push notification delivery.
• Support, security, analytics, or infrastructure providers used to maintain the service.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, to enforce our policies, or to protect users and the service from harm.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect user information, including authenticated backend requests, access controls, and secure operational practices. No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your device secure and not sharing your login or OTP codes.

7. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We keep account information for as long as needed to provide LoversConnect, maintain security, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our policies. Some logs, backups, and moderation records may be kept for a limited period after account deletion where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or abuse review.

You can request account deletion from inside the app where the account deletion option is available, or by contacting support at loversconnectmw@gmail.com. Include the phone number or account details needed to identify your account. We may need to verify that the request comes from the account owner.

When your account is deleted, your profile and account access are removed from active use. Some information may remain temporarily in backups, logs, reports, or legal records before it is permanently removed according to our retention process.

8. Your Choices and Rights

• Update profile information and photos in the app.
• Control discovery and privacy settings where available.
• Disable camera, location, biometric, or notification permissions in your device settings.
• Block or report users.
• Request access, correction, or deletion by contacting support.

9. Safety and Community Guidelines

To protect the community, you agree not to:

• Use LoversConnect if you are under 18.
• Create fake, misleading, impersonation, scam, spam, or automated accounts.
• Upload illegal, hateful, sexually exploitative, violent, abusive, or non-consensual content.
• Harass, threaten, intimidate, blackmail, exploit, or abuse other users.
• Share another person's private information without permission.
• Use the app for commercial spam, fraud, trafficking, solicitation, or illegal activity.
• Attempt to bypass moderation, security, account restrictions, or technical protections.

We may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, ban users, preserve evidence, or cooperate with law enforcement when needed to protect users or comply with the law.

10. Terms of Use

By using LoversConnect, you agree to use the app responsibly and lawfully, provide truthful account information, respect other users, and follow these policies. You are responsible for your interactions with other users. Use caution when sharing personal information or meeting someone in person.

LoversConnect is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may update, suspend, or discontinue features, moderate content, enforce safety rules, or restrict accounts that violate these policies. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app.

11. Changes to These Policies

We may update this page from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the date at the top of the page. Continued use of LoversConnect after changes means you accept the updated policies.
